Mrs Vesile Akburak (59) was likened to a ‘stone quarry’ after an operation she recently had in southern Adana province…
Akburak, the 59-year-old housewife, was admitted to the Private Ortadoğu Hospital a while ago with complaints of unbearable pains. It was the 1-5mm-sized 957 stones in her gallbladder that had caused the woman’s pains.
“I have performed over 4,000 similar surgeries, but never encountered with so many stones before. It really is a rare situation. Had the stones not been removed, the situation could have resulted in death,” said Surgeon Mehmet Bayrak, tired of counting the stones he had removed.
